My Definition.......

 What is fashion?? Hmmmmm let’s see what the dictionary says; “it is a style in clothes, cosmetics, behavior, etc, esp. the latest or most admired style”. All that says to me is Blah Blah Blah, can we be more literal.

But that’s the thing there is nothing literal about Fashion. There is the Avante Garde, Couture, Runway, Everyday, Fantasy, costume and the list goes on and on. Fashion is not about being in a box but standing on the outside of the box. Taking whatever creative ideas you have and making them a walking master piece. Just like any master piece it will have its fan club and the people that just don’t get it. That’s what I feel fashion is.


Fashion touches all of our senses, well most of them anyway. It can either be breath taking or suffocating (let’s just hope it’s the first). It can be something to look upon or something to turn away from. And most importantly fashion is about the touch and feel of the garment. I love to be able to close my eyes and touch a garment, guess the fabrication and feel the details.


Some people don’t understand fashion. And that’s fine it’s not meant to be understood. From where I stand fashion is a mystery and it’s just a pleasant thought. A design sketched first on paper, developed and produced. It’s a business where beauty and brains meet. Where there are no limits and fantasy can become reality.


So at the end of it all.People are blunt they say things that will hurt your feeling. And you can either care a lot or not care at all.
